We had a super fun week with Pizza and the letter P. We made pretend pizza, real pizza, playdough, puzzles, found pictures starting with P in the moonsand, and much more.

Feelings, Circles, blue, and the letter W

It was weird missing so many kids today in both classes. Hope everyone is feeling okay (I know a few were out of town).

Just so you know... a few things that have come home this week that you may not have recognized is a circle they cut out all on their own, Wheel tracks for the letter w, and circle sponge paintings. I really believe in letting the kids explore with the paints, sponges, scissors, or whatever the materials might on their own. I show them examples and make sure they are using the materials correctly, but I let them create. So if something doesn't look like it's suppose to, it's because I don't fix your child's work.

Today we had a fun day painting and making the bunny from our story, playing in moon sand, and drawing emotions on whiteboards. We read a lot of books about being happy, feeling sad, being grumpy, worried, and angry. Today we also enjoyed some nice weather and some bubbles while I tested the kids on their letters, shapes, and colors.

**Anytime you can send a snack that has to do with the letter of the week, the shape we are working on, or the color we are learning that would be great. Today one parent sent Watermelon and Whale crackers for the letter W and it really helped the kids learn it since they had to tell me what it started with everytime they wanted more. Thanks!

Just so you know...

I think it is so important to talk to your child about their day. So I will try to let you know of the things we did in our preschool day so if your child forgot or doesn't want to talk about it you can strike up the conversation.
Today we tried out stencils (space stencils), added glitter and stickers to our planet paintings, read 10 little wishing stars, found stars in the rice, drew our faces inside a space helmet, and blew bubbles.

Sorry I didn't have my camera available in my morning class but here are some precious moments from the afternoon class-

First Day of School

Today was a wonderful first day of school. The kids did so well and I think it's going to be a great year. We painted with space sponges, played in colored rice, and used playdough to make stars and moons. Our snack was astronaut food (dried raisins, bananas, mangos, cherries, and apples). We enjoyed calendar time, lots of songs, the toy room, some outside play, books, and show and tell.

Two More Weeks!

Only two more weeks before we "blast off" into another year of preschool. We will start our first day off with all things outer space. Don't forget to send your child with the item they would choose to fly in the spaceship with. Send this item in their show and tell bag. We'll see everyone on September 8th!!!

Thanks for coming to our end of the school year picnic! I will miss teaching these little cuties! It was a windy day with plates and cups flying, but at least no rain or snow!

Preschool Graduation

Graduation went wonderfully. Thanks for everyone who helped with food! The kids did a great job. I didn't take any pictures and the actualy graduation, but here are a few others I have.

the wraps for the candy bars were done by my friend. She has tons of great ideas for all occasions, she also will costumize. Check her out at putawraponit.com
