1. About Me
My name is Emily Pugmire; I have experience with several different grade levels. I received my degree from Utah State University in Early Childhood and Severe Special Education. I taught preschool with Cache school district for one year then I devoted my time to my own children. I have a preschooler myself and I love teaching!
My goal is to prepare your child academically, socially, emotionally, and physically for Kindergarten. And more importantly have many hands-on experiences and a lot of fun!

2. Registration, Tuition, and Schedule
· The 4-5 year old class is $100 a month (child must be 4 by Sept. 1st and must be potty trained)
Tuesday/Thursday 11AM-3PM
. There is a $10 registration fee to guarantee your spot.
· Tuition is due the first preschool day of the month. A $10 late fee will be added if paid after the 10th of the month unless prior arrangements have been made.
· A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.
· If tuition is missed for a month the child will be dismissed until tuition is paid.
· It is important that children arrive no more than 5 minutes early and are picked up on time. If you are going to be late picking your child up, please call.
· Cash is preferred, if a check is written please write out to Emily Pugmire.

3. Behavior Management
I strongly believe in positive motivation. I believe encouraging positive behavior goes further than punishing a young child. When a problem arises, I talk with the child/children and we work to resolve the problem. A short time out or loss of privilege might happen, but I will inform you if discipline was needed.

4. Sick Days
· If your child is contagious or sick, please keep them home.
· My sick days: If I can’t teach because of a funeral, being sick or an emergency, I’ll notify you to cancel school. If I cancel more than two days a month, class will be rescheduled. I will not makeup Holidays or teacher work days.

5. Bathroom accidents
· I realize that accidents happen; please send an extra pair of pants, underwear, socks, and shirt in a Ziploc bag with their name on it. For liability reasons, if your child needs help changing I will call you to help them.

6. Birthdays
· Each child’s birthday will be celebrated on or around that day. Summer birthdays will be celebrated throughout the year. Please no gum or other treats that take a long time to eat!

7. Snack
· Your child will get a chance to bring and pass out snack about once every month. The day they bring snack they will also be the snack helper. A list of snack ideas is attached.

8. Show-N-Tell
· We will have show-n-tell every Tuesday. There will be a theme each week for show-n-tell like letters, colors, shapes, or a favorite something. The theme will be listed in the monthly calendar that I will send home.

9. Other Important Information
· Please do not park in the driveway to pick up or drop of your child. Enter the circle going the direction of traffic, I will bring the children out a couple minutes before class gets out and watch for you to get out of the car. I will not allow the children to go into the street by themselves.
· I will only allow children to go home with people listed on their information paper. If you need someone else to pick up your child, send a note with your child or give me a call. This is for your child’s safety.
· We collect beautiful junk including; clean milk carton lids, beads, yarn, buttons, etc. Anything we can sort, count, or use for colleges and art projects.
· Please have children leave toys at home (aside from show-n-tell). They get mixed up with the preschool toys and can be a distraction.
· Label all your children’s coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, etc.
· Parent/Child concerns: Please let me know if there are any personal problems going on at home (death, divorce, new sibling) so I can better meet the needs of your child.

I’m looking forward to a great year! Please don’t hesitate to talk to me about anything, whether it seems small or big. Sometimes a little problem becomes big because of a misunderstanding.
