Dr. Seuss's The Foot Book Day

Today we enjoyed reading The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. The kids got to trace their feet and compare the size and shape with their classmates and also count how many feet in our class. Today was all about feet so we ditched the socks and shoes and made painted footprints all over, drew pictures with our toes, and used all kinds of toy footprints to make a foot collage.
Many more fun Dr. Seuss books and activities still to come this week!

Presidents

We learned about Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and our current president Obama. The kids sorted coins, made log cabins, and painted an American flag and told what they would do if they were the president. We practiced the pledge of Allegiance, sang a song about George cutting the cherry tree down, and colored a picture of Obama.

The Princess and the Pea

We had a lot of fun this week with everything prince and princess and royal kingdoms. We had tons of practice with counting by playing games like pass the pea to find the prince/princess, and build the bed with the pea underneath. Also this week we made crowns, knight's shields, and celebrated ground hogs day. We found things that started with G, we played a princess matching game, played make believe with a castle filled with knights, kings, queens, dragons, princes, princesses, horse and carriage, and even some army guys. It was a fun week-even for the boys.
