It was weird missing so many kids today in both classes. Hope everyone is feeling okay (I know a few were out of town).
Just so you know... a few things that have come home this week that you may not have recognized is a circle they cut out all on their own, Wheel tracks for the letter w, and circle sponge paintings. I really believe in letting the kids explore with the paints, sponges, scissors, or whatever the materials might on their own. I show them examples and make sure they are using the materials correctly, but I let them create. So if something doesn't look like it's suppose to, it's because I don't fix your child's work.
Today we had a fun day painting and making the bunny from our story, playing in moon sand, and drawing emotions on whiteboards. We read a lot of books about being happy, feeling sad, being grumpy, worried, and angry. Today we also enjoyed some nice weather and some bubbles while I tested the kids on their letters, shapes, and colors.
**Anytime you can send a snack that has to do with the letter of the week, the shape we are working on, or the color we are learning that would be great. Today one parent sent Watermelon and Whale crackers for the letter W and it really helped the kids learn it since they had to tell me what it started with everytime they wanted more. Thanks!
