Nursery Rhymes

We had a really fun 3 days of Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales. We told lots of stories and worked on rhyming. The kids made their own Nursery Rhyme books and we acted most of the stories. I was a slacker with my camera this week and didn't bring it down until the end today when we did humpty dumpty.
Today we also decorated an Easter egg and stearched through colored rice to find matching Easter eggs.
Enjoy the short video and we will see everyone at Parent/Teacher confrence tomorrow!

A Very Green Day

The kids really enjoyed all their fun green foods today! They were awesome with helping me read Green Eggs and Ham, this class has their rhyming down! Then we got to try some green eggs and ham courtesy of Andy with the rest of our green treats. Today we also made pots of gold and learned the letter X, and of course enjoyed some sunny, warm playtime outside!

Pajama Day

What cute little pajama kids we had today! We enjoyed painting pictures with toothbrushes, making a bed with 10 people in it for our 10 in the bed song, reading Llama Llama Red Pajama, and some bedtime games. We also did the letter U and the number 1 today.

The kids used their wonderful imaginations today in dressing up during freeplay. We had construction workers, super heroes, princesses, Dora Characters, firefighters, and some great make believe play!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday with lots of his wonderful stories, cat in the hat hats, making our own made up character, and making green eggs and ham place mats. We sang happy birthday to him and learned a bit about him. The kids were most interested in the fact that he is dead-oops sorry about the unplanned lesson on death. I just told the kids he was in heaven and he was happy to see them celebrating. ;)
We pointed out a lot of his rhyming words and opposites in his book. We counted how many feet we had at school today after reading The Foot Book.
And we learned the letter Q today by making quilts to go on our queen.
It was a fun day and I look forward to some more Dr. Seuss on Wednesday.
