Bears

We had a great week with bears and the letter B
-we made bear masks that helped us tell several of our stories
-We sorted colors and read Brown Bear Brown Bear
-Find thing that start with B in brown beans
-glued bears to make the letter B
-got a few minutes to watch Care bears with the teddy bears they brought
-Acted out Goldilocks several times
-built with blocks
-learned big, medium, and small
-made bear books
-made bear puppets
-read Bear Flies High, Bears Bears Bears, and Bear feels sick
-and much more...

Five Senses

We explored our five senses this week. We touched several different textures and made a texture collage, we talked about things we like to see and made binoculars, we smelled mysterious things and guessed what they were and painted noses with smelly koolaide paints, we tasted mysterious foods and guess what was put in our mouths, we listened to noises and guessed what we were hearing and we painted ears with cue tips.

Snowman week

We had a fun week with snowmen:
-We read "Snowmen at Night" and the kids decided what is was their snowman would do at night, then we made melted snowmen like at the end of the story.
-We made snowmen out of marshmallows and ate them
-We read "The Hat" and acted it out with all the characters and then a made a special hat to go on top of our big snowmen.
-We drew snowmen at night with chalk on black paper.
-We talked about what is hot and cold
-We practiced tracing, cutting and drawing circles
-We practiced writing the letter S and found many things that started with S

Penguins

Our week of Penguins consisted of:
playing in the snow and finding penguin alphabet matches
working on putting fish above, under, on, beside, etc our penguin
went fishing to to feed our penguin
painted with paint ice cubes
found things that started with the letter P
made penguins wit black ovals
