Dinosaurs!

First of all we got to welcome a new friend this week: Grace! We are so glad she joined our class!

This week we focused on dinosaurs and we had a lot of fun with it. Some of the kids' favorites were:
-The volcano
-Dinosaur bingo
-digging for dinosaurs in the sand and carefully brushing the sand a way to find the dinosaur like an archaeologist does.
-seeing all of Max's robot Dinosaurs he brought to share.
-Singing songs with the finger puppets they made.
-Dinosaur stories
-acting like dinosaurs as we marched around on the giant dinosaur footprints (and practicing the numbers written on them).
-we colored, cut, and glued many other kinds of dinosaur projects.
-We also worked on the letter A and the color brown.

It was a wonderful week and the kids worked hard and had lots of fun!

-We made penguin puppets
-Learned the letter Y
-Talked about and drew the shape-moon/crescent
-We painted with paint ice cubes.
-We had game time today with Whack-a-Mole and Perfection. That kids loved playing the games!!!
-We also worked on opposites this week and I was impressed how quickly they picked the concept up!
The kids are just way to much fun and I love hearing their excitement for learning and the funny things they have say!

Christmas Party

First of all, Thank you to everyone for all the preschool supplies! That was extremely helpful!
And thanks to the parents who came and helped out at our preschool party. We played with playdough, made gingerbread houses, played pin the face on the snowman, unwrapped stories, sang songs, played stuff the stocking and cut wrapping paper. I think the kids had a good time!
Everyone have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Snow Day!

We picked a great day to play in the snow. Not to windy and not below zero-can't ask for much better in Rock Springs! The kids had a wonderful time.
I guess I failed to realize that the first thing everyone would want to do when they got in the snow was throw it at each other. And they all found out that it is only fun to throw, not get hit in the face with it. So after a quick gathering and creating some snow rules everyone was happy and excited to play in the snow!
They are just to funny! I could watch them and listen to their funny comments all day!- never a dull moment (especially when you are getting 7 kids in snow pants and boots at the same time).
Also today we:
-celebrated Alex's b-day (Ellie's was on Monday)
-made presents
-wrapped the ornaments we made
-our letter G page
-made a Santa clause
-read Christmas stories

I had to get another reindeer shot because Garen decided to finally participate in putting the reindeer ears on and Kristinah was back after being sick the last 2 weeks!

Little Reindeer

The kids loved wearing the reindeer ears during our Christmas songs on Wednesday. I love how hard it is to get a good picture. :) We also enjoyed making our 'w' page, making sparkly icicles, writing in our Winter Journals, and talking about what clothes we wear in the snow.

-We made glittery snowflakes.
-read the 12 days of Winter and 5 little penguins slipping on the ice; and worked on numbers and counting
-We started a Winter Journal
-Sang Christmas songs
-And practiced the letter W-good job on all the show and tell that starts with 'W'!
